Working Near Power Lines?
Let's Work Together Safely.
If you're planning any work near Battle River Power Coop infrastructure, it's important to get in touch with us first.
We require notification and approval for third-party activities that may impact our overhead or underground power lines, including:
- Installing or operating equipment (e.g., pipelines, access roads, fibre optics, water/sewer lines) that crosses our power lines or cables.
- Operating machinery within 7 metres of an overhead line.
- Any ground disturbance within 30 metres of our power lines or related structures (such as poles, anchors, or guy wires).
- Please allow 2 - 4 weeks for approvals to be issued.
To request approval for these activities, please email us at planning@brpower.coop with your project details.
If you need to revise or cancel a previous request, include your original reference number along with updated plans and documentation in your email.
As part of our process, and in compliance with Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), we may conduct a land title search or request proof of ownership or authorization before proceeding with your application.
