Battle River Power Coop is a Rural Electrification Association that operates under cooperative principles. The Coop provides electrical distribution for farms, rural businesses, industry, and recreation/residential development. As an electric utility cooperative, the Coop offers several advantages that are unique to the coop business model.

Our rural Alberta service area stretches from the Town of Bruderheim in the north to the Village of Alix in the south, and east from the Town of Wainwright to the Village of Thorsby in the west, spanning 13 Alberta Municipal Districts and Counties. We have been providing safe, reliable electricity distribution to rural Alberta for 75 years and serve 8,700-plus members.

We employ 60 qualified people who contribute to the cost-effective, reliable and safe energy delivery through services including power restoration, new construction, vegetation management, loans, electrician services, and utility billing.

System Planning & Engineering
Member Service Representative - 6 Month Temporary Position

We are looking for a temporary six (6) month Administrative Assistant to help in our System Planning & Engineering Department.

General Summary

  • Administration of service quotes including:
    • Initial phone call and setting up appointments
    • Quoting calendar and scheduling
    • Form generation and processing
    • Construction file generation
    • Project management tracking
    • Membership filing
  • Title searches, easements, and utility rights-of-way
  • Communications with local independent owned utility
  • Assistance with trouble calls
  • Subdivisions tracking
  • Electrical service contract and membership administration
  • Initial phone contact with members requesting quotes, changes, and service questions

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills
  • Experience in an electrical utility environment would be a strong asset
  • Capable of working in a multitasking environment
  • Training in the following areas: PIPA, Excel/Access, Business Central, and Northstar billing system

Hours of Operation

Hours of operation are generally 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
