Meal to the Field

A Celebration of Harvest!

Alberta is known for having one of the most productive agricultural economies worldwide, and it's Canada's second-largest agricultural producer. With over 70,000 farmers in the province, Alberta's 21 million hectares of agricultural land offer a diverse range of farming activities, including crop production, livestock farming, and more.

It's worth noting that farming and ranching played a crucial role in building Alberta's economy, and it was the rural farmers and ranchers who joined forces to bring electricity to rural areas. Rural Electrification Associations, such as Battle River Power Coop, were established by these rural Albertans, and they can take pride in the fact that their contributions go beyond providing food on the table.

In honor of the hard work that takes place during the harvest season, Battle River Power Coop came up with a heartfelt initiative called "Meal to the Field."" This special event allows members to participate in a contest held in late summer, with deliveries taking place during harvest time. Meal to the Field provides an opportunity for employees, directors, and members to come together, share a meal, and show their appreciation for the vital task at hand—the annual harvest.

Keep an eye out for the annual announcement of the Meal to the Field contest in the newsletter and on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
