Regulated Rate Option (RRO)
If you have not entered into an energy contract, you are on the Regulated Rate Option (RRO).
The RRO may increase or decrease from month to month as it is priced on the open market and subject to many factors relating to supply and demand. It is not a ‘regulated’ rate; rather it is a default rate. The RRO is established based on inclusion of the 100% spot market price, a further risk margin adjustment inclusive of the purchase price of power, and other adjustments reflecting the prudent owner’s costs incurred by the Coop to provide the RRO rate. Battle River Wires Division administers the member RRO service on behalf of Battle River Power Coop .
The temporary price cap program for the Regulated Rate Option (RRO) has ended. To learn more about your electricity options, visit Alberta.ca/electricity or call the Utilities Consumer Advocate at 310-4822 (toll-free from anywhere in Alberta).
April 2020 RRO Rate
The Battle River Power Coop monthly rate as calculated under the RRO regulation is $0.06988 per kWh.
