Battle River Power Coop’s location is as central as possible for the members in our service area, in the Ervick subdivision near Camrose, at the junction of Highways 13 and 21.

The past 20 years of Battle River Power Coop history are defined by its development into a fully operational electricity distribution utility.

Battle River Power Coop has a proud history going back 71 years. The story began with Alberta farmers who formed cooperative Rural Electrification Associations (REAs) and built their own electricity distribution systems.

May 25-29, 2020 is Alberta Rural Health Week when we have the opportunity to recognize the contributions of the rural Alberta health-care providers and community volunteers who go above and beyond to support health care and health-care providers in their communities.

Battle River Power Coop is nearing its seventy-first anniversary as an electricity distributor in rural central Alberta. Our long and successful history rests on a commitment to serve the rural Albertans who are member-owners of their electricity cooperative.

Battle River Power Coop has adapted to COVID-19 in a number of ways, including directing staff to work from home when tasks permit. This strategy allows the essential work of electricity delivery to continue while looking after the health and well-being of employees.

Many rural Albertans take advantage of cold winter weather and snow cover to burn brush piles, old buildings or unused bales. Now is the time to check winter burn sites and make sure that they are completely extinguished.
