Pole Replacement Program

Battle River Power Coop replaces damaged and unsafe poles regularly to maintain a cost effective and safe distribution system. As pole replacement accounts for a significant capital investment in the distribution system annually, we continually evaluate actions and programs that may extend the life span of poles and other components in our system to maximize cost benefit. Pole replacements, as identified during our pole testing, occur on a 7-year rotation.

Battle River Power Coop changes poles in the winter, which works especially well in cultivated areas to minimize crop damage and eliminates having to work in seasonal flooded areas. This time frame also allows us to maximize our staff contingent and eliminates the need to engage outside contractors.

We work diligently to schedule power outages to minimize/reduce inconvenience to members. The goal of our field personnel is to keep the power outage time to a minimum. In the event of inclement weather or severe cold, schedules may be changed and we encourage you to check Facebook and Twitter for the most up to date information.
