Distribution System Operator Services (DSO)

Distribution system operators (DSOs) manage a network that acquires energy from the high-voltage transmission system and flows through the distribution system to the final customer.

In addition to operating distribution systems, which includes new construction, annual maintenance, repairs and emergency outage services, Battle River Power Coop will also provide the Regulated Rate Option (RRO) to REA members without retail electricity contracts.

This agreement between Rural Electrification Associations is an example of strength of cooperatives partnering with like cooperatives and leveraging cooperative principles.

Emergency communications will be integrated into the Battle River Power Coop system, and the Coop website will incorporate outage information for REAs within the DSO Agreement.

The term of this initial agreement varies, and all organizations involved are looking forward working together to “Keep the lights on!
