Cooperatives around the world operate according to the same set of seven core principles and values, adopted by the International Co-operative Alliance. These principles are a key reason that electric cooperatives, like Battle River Power Coop, operate differently from other electric utilities, by putting the needs of their members first.

The scholarship program sponsored by Battle River Power Coop illustrates our dedication to two of the cooperative principles: education and concern for community. Both principles are about sustainable development within communities. Our scholarship program is a way that we can directly help members of the communities within our service area.

AnnuallyBattle River Power Coop offers up to 5 scholarships of $1,000.00 for dependents of our members entering their first-year post-secondary studies in either a diploma or degree granting program.
