Pole Testing Schedule

Pole Testing

Battle River Power Coop's Pole Plant Maintenance Program is a strong program included in our strategic planning, and plays a huge part in the capital investment of your distribution system.

This program provides a safe and economical pole management program that identifies wood poles that have reduced wood strength for a number of reasons which include possible decay, insects/rodents, and storm damage.

Each year on a seven year rotation, we test the poles in a planned area of Battle River to determine how many have reached the point where they are no longer dependable and should be changed. The poles identified are typically changed the year following the test unless it has been determined that the pole(s) is/are a hazard and must be changed immediately.
